Jiafan 家範 is a Confucian treatise written during the Northern Song period 北宋 (960-1126) by Sima Guang 司馬光 (1019-1086). The 10-juan long treatise begins with the hexagram jiaren ䷤ 家人 "The family" and a summary of the Confucian Classics Daxue 大學, Xiaojing 孝經, and the chapter Yaodian 堯典 of the Shangshu 尚書 "Book of Documents". In 19 chapters, Sima Guang explains how the Classics talked about order and harmony within a family, referring to many examples in history, how harmony was ensured or restored by righteousness and the strict adherence to one's personal position in the family hierarchy.
