The Yuelü biaowei 樂律表微 "XXX" is a book on music compiled by the mid-Qing period 清 (1644-1911) scholar Hu Yansheng 胡彥升, courtesy name Hu Zhuxuan 胡竹軒. He came form Deqing 德清, Zhejiang, obtained his jinshi degree in 1730, and rose to the post of magistrate (zhixian 知縣) of Dingtao 定陶, Jiangsu. His 8 juan "scrolls" long book includes four chapters about the pitchpipes (Dinglü 度律), the tones (Shenyin 審音), the musical modes (Zhidiao 制調), and music instruments (Kaoqi 考器). In his book, Hu Yansheng creates nothing new, but he corrects many errors to be found in older texts, which makes his book an important contribution to the history of music in China. It is therefore included in the imperial collectaneum Siku quanshu 四庫全書.
